"A Royal Dawning" Original Painting
Original Painting:“A Royal Dawning” , 20” X 30” Acrylic on Hard Board, Framed
One of the most fascinating, thrilling, and down right hair rising sounds in all nature is the bugle of a huge bull elk. I truly love seeing and hearing the elk in late September and early October, when the rut is on. The larger, stronger, or most determined bulls have gathered their harems. Opportunistic satellite bulls circle around the herds challenging and threatening to mate with, or steal away, cows. The voices of challenging bulls fill the air, especially in morning, and evening hours, and even long into the night.
I have tried to capture one of those thrilling bugling moments in the golden dawn light of this painting. I can hear this beauty’s high pitched call in my mind; I hope, I have taken you there as will. A mature six by six point bull is called a “Royal Bull” and is a truly magnificent sight to behold. Thus the title: “A Royal Dawning.”
